API Monogram is the product mark of the American Petroleum Institute. It began in 1924. Its purpose is to identify the production equipment and materials and provide manufacturers that can meet the API quality system and product standards. The logo is registered in the United States and cannot be used by anyone without permission.

API certification means that through an application, inspection and confirmation procedure, API will grant certificates to manufacturers whose product technicians meet API product specifications, quality assurance system (ISO9000) and API quality outline specifications, and allow manufacturers to use API Monogram marks on their products.
